Public utility buildings

Contact us

To comply with fire safety legislation, the provision of security and guarantee of possibilities for evacuation to individuals present in the public utility building and establishment of procedures in case of fire are some of the fundamental responsibilities of property owners. That’s why in every public utility building fire safety requirements must be met. Such buildings should be fitted with working fire suppression devices and extinguishing equipment as well as procedures outlined in fire safety instructions or internal operational and emergency plans.

For fire protection to be effective, it is necessary to define an individualised fire danger specification for each building, fire protection conditions, and procedures in case of fire. Our many years of experience, wide-ranging product and service offer, and knowledge of relevant legislation allow us to offer comprehensive fire protection for every type of building.

We are the largest and the leading fire protection service in the country, dealing with design, installation, and control of modern fire protection systems as well as inspections, maintenance, and repair of all types of portable fire extinguishing equipment allowable for use in fire protection. We execute installation designs for fire protection installations which guarantee maximum safety for the users of buildings and the equipment and furnishings inside them. These designs fully meet current legal requirements and fulfil rigorous demands established by insurance companies. If necessary, designs can be consulted with architects and electrical installation, alarm system and other designers. We also offer expertise and fire scenario preparation.

We guarantee our customers high quality products and fire protection equipment as well as high quality installation of fire protection systems. We provide advisory services, consulting, and training in fire safety. We develop plans, update of fire safety and evacuation instructions, and also fit buildings with appropriate signage.

Offices

For the fire protection of office spaces, the best solution is the use of the water mist fire suppression system. These are characterised by much lower use of water in comparison to sprinkler and spray systems. Apart from water savings, this also allows the space necessary for mounting of the reservoir to be minimised. Thanks to this, the affected room is quickly dried and returned to productive operation. Additionally, also allows the space necessary for mounting of the reservoir to be minimised.

In the case of high-ceilinged spaces (>3.5m), it may be necessary to make use of a sprinkler installation.

Server rooms

For the extinguishing of fires in server rooms, the best solution is SAFEMATICTM gas fire suppression systems. Depending on the cubic volume of the area protected, we recommend systems such as:

The so-called clean extinguishing agents used in these systems means that they do not conduct electricity, and after application evaporate, leaving a clean and dry surface. Gas-based extinguishing agents are the only solution which is completely safe for sensitive electronic equipment. All sources of fire are discovered at the earliest stages by point smoke detectors or aspirating smoke detectors, which are an element of the detection system and fire suppression management systems.

No systems based on wet fire suppression, including water mist systems, are recommended for fire protection in data centres or server rooms. Aerosol particle systems also may be harmful to electronic equipment. The particles can penetrate even the smallest crevices and if not removed within 48 hours may form a corrosive environment.

One preventive system which does not allow fire to appear is inerting. This involves the controlled reduction of oxygen concentration via substitution with an inert gas, thanks to which an non-flammable atmosphere is created. Inerting can be applied in server rooms where people are only sporadically present.

For the protection of individual cabinets with a capacity of up to 3m3, it is worthwhile to use an FRS-RACK®2 Extinguishing Panel. This is intended for the detection of fire, its extinguishing and management of the extinguishing process in 19“ rack cabinets. The fire suppression process involves filling the entire protected space with an extinguishing agent.

Electrical switching stations

The best solution for extinguishing of fires in areas with sensitive electronic equipment with strategic significance for the functioning of the building are SAFEMATICTM gas fire suppression systems. Depending on the cubic volume of the area protected, we recommend systems such as:

Underground parking structures

Effective fire protection in underground parking structures can be provided by an FOGTEC Water Mist System. These are characterised by much lower use of water in comparison to sprinkler and deluge systems. Apart from water savings, this also allows the space necessary for mounting of the reservoir to be minimised.

In the case of high-ceilinged parking structures, an effective alternative can be provided by a sprinkler installation.

Restaurant and gastronomy buildings

Kitchen areas of restaurants are rife with easily flammable fats and oils which in the course of seconds can change into high flames and spread throughout a building via ventilation ducts. Attempts to extinguish such a fire with water can cause the burning oil to explode, exacerbating the danger.

A solution which guarantees work safety with frying machinery with hoods involves not only extinguishing the fire but also preventing it from spreading. An indispensable element of this system is a cut-off damper mounted in the ventilation duct which prevents flames from spreading to other devices and rooms. The system can be initiated automatically after a defined temperature is registered by a detector or pressure channel, or manually by a member of the kitchen staff. Dosing nozzles distributed evenly over the hood, the extinguishing foam is sprayed directly in the direction of the fire. It covers the surface with a protective layer and cuts off the supply of oxygen. In this way, it extinguishes the fire and prevents the return of fire.

Helicopter landing pads

An effective and also the recommended fire protection solution for helicopter landing pads is the HELIGUARD foam station. This is the only prefabricated system in Poland dedicated to fire extinguishing at helicopter landing pads using heavy foam. It allows group A and B fires to be effectively extinguished, including highly flammable liquids such as aviation fuel. The station is adapted for manual operation by building personnel. The use of a 20-metre hose allows firefighting personnel to precisely reach the fire area, and the adjustable nozzle means that the foam or water jet can be selected depending on the extent of the area affected by fire.

Fire Alarm Systems

All multi-storey and high-rise public utility buildings must be fitted with Fire Alarm Systems which are intended to discover fires, announce alarm states and send alarm signals to firefighting units.

We develop comprehensive designs, conduct professional installations, and take care of proper maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems in all types of buildings. We also develop full as-built documentation for systems. St the customer’s request, we can also link our systems to voice announcement equipment systems, smoke exhaust dampers and fire doors.

Access control systems

Access Control Systems are some of the most commonly implemented security systems in companies and institutions. They make it possible to restrict access of unauthorised persons to selected spaces or zones in a building. They also enable threat visualisation on the premises of a building.

We design and install Access Control Systems using among other things electronic code locks, proximity sensors, and biometric sensors. This type of system can be easily expanded and configured to ideally meet the functional and quantitative needs of the building which is being protected. Thanks to possibility of archiving data on the movements of individuals around the building, an access control system can effectively cooperate with work time recording systems. In the case of a sudden evacuation, the system rapid access to data on the number of people present in individual rooms and zones of the building. We also conduct inspections and maintenance of existing SSP systems.

Extinguishing equipment and evacuation signage

We can fit every type of building with essential fire protection equipment for independent operation. Our offer includes a complete line of extinguishers and extinguishing and fire extinguishing units, as well as all types of hangers, stands, and cases for mounting and storing portable fire extinguishing equipment.

As the largest and leading national fire protection provider in the country, we also provide inspection services, maintenance and repair of all types of portable fire extinguishing equipment certified for use in fire suppression. We develop plans, update fire safety and evacuations instructions for buildings, and install the appropriate signage. We also provide advisory services, consultation and training in fire safety.

Hydrants

We can fit any building with the required external hydrants and internal valves. We also offer a wide range of accessories for hydrants, including surface- and recess-mount cabinets, bases, supports and frames, hoses, winders, nozzles, wrenches and handwheels.

As the largest and leading provider of fire protection maintenance services in the country, we provide inspections, maintenance and repairs of all types of hydrants. We conduct water performance tests and pressure tests of hydrant hoses.
